We work directly with incarcerated clients and their families to advocate for individual needs. These services include but are not limited to: healthcare, basic needs, disability rights, assist with guidance through the process and policies within the facility and systemically, access to visitation/phone calls/property etc.

Administrative Advocacy

We work with local and state Correctional Administration to advocate for the rights of incarcerated individuals and improvement to conditions of confinement systemically.

Public Awareness Projects

We work to promote public awareness on issues of conditions of confinement through multiple projects reaching statewide. These include public forums at Universities in Maryland, our podcast, filming projects and more.

Public policy/Education

The MPRC works with our state elected officials to educate them on the issues being faced by the incarcerated population and offers expert testimony and guidance on the needs of this population.

Legal Services

We work with incarcerated individuals and their families to educate them about their rights, understanding the grievance process, and referrals to appropriate legal representation. As well, we consultatively assist with litigation involving rights violations.
